Why I Create

Maybe It’s Grace began in a season when my world had become very small. I was spending much of my time in bed, dealing with illness, isolation, and some very hard days emotionally. My stepmom gave me some leftover beads, hoping they might give my hands and mind something gentle to focus on.

I had no idea that such a small gesture would become something so meaningful. At first, creating jewelry was simply a way to occupy my mind. Then I began to notice what happened while I worked. Choosing colors, arranging beads, and taking something loose and scattered and turning it into something beautiful gave me a sense of calm and purpose. On days when I couldn’t do much else, I could still create.

Over time, those little projects became more than a distraction. They became therapeutic. They reminded me that beauty can still be made in difficult places, that something meaningful can come from seasons we never would have chosen, and that grace often shows up in ways we don’t recognize at first.

That is where Maybe It’s Grace was born. Today, I create pieces that celebrate faith, family, friendship, memory, and the ordinary moments that deserve to be held onto. Some pieces carry deep meaning. Some are simply made to bring a little color, beauty, or joy to someone’s day. But each one is created by hand, with intention and care.

What began with a handful of leftover beads has grown into something I never expected: a creative outlet, a source of healing, and a way to make something beautiful and meaningful for someone else.

Maybe it started as a distraction.
Maybe it was grace all along.
